Igniting a movement

Its been hours since I planned to start writing an entry but I couldnt think of anything worthwhile to write about, then i stumbled on this site. http://theignition.org/. I just saw these guys on a concert last week here in our place. What had happened was really great. With their motto: "Igniting a movement & Mobilizing a generation.". What they offered to our city was really huge, especially to the youth here. I couldn't thank them much for bringing back Christ into our lives and the lives of the many others who need Him. And I couldnt thank Him enough.

Personally my faith has been dried up. I rarely pray, I only pray when I want to ask something from God. I usually ignored Him. I knew my faith wasn't going well and my relationship with Him hasn't been pleasing but I never cared. My christian friends are also starting to also be like me. There were no Bible studies, no Sunday school, I don't even read the Bible anymore. My life was all focused on school, in which I got an F in one subject. I was lonely. I was alone. My life was boring. I had nothing. It came to a point when I thought there was no hope for me to turn to Christ at all. Then I came to think of my faith. When my family decided to transfer to a new church at The New Life Christian Center I then decided to renew my faith. I prayed for a revival. And The Ignition showed me that.

That night at the Ejam was great. I really felt God's touch, embrace and love towards me. I cried because I realized what I have been missing all along. I miss God. I miss being close to Him. And in that night I decided to just offer everything to Him. My life, my plans, my ambitions, everything. I decided to live each day for His glory because what is here and what we are in this earth is just temporary. And the truth is we really dont have anything unless we have God. I belive that He is the only hope for our generation today.

So what are we waiting for? Spread His love throughout the world. Share it to your classmates, friends, family. Bring revival & salvation. I believe that God sent The Ignition for us. Now's the time we let God use us to reach to the people who need Him.

The praise goes out to You.

Pinoy ako!

I've been reading this book by Bob Ong and called "Bakit baliktad magbasa ang Pilipino". I tell you, its such a crazy book. People would think you're crazy reading an upside down covered book. But this so-called crazy book opened my eyes in a lot of things concerning the country I've been living in for the past 17 years. It expands my views on the negative sides of our country as well as the good side.

I have this perception that I'm lucky I have this kind of lifestyle, I'm studying in a private school, we have our own family company, I have decent food to eat everyday, Im equiped with books to read and gain knowledge, I was blinded with reality. I didnt know that there was a different world just next to me. All I ever really cared was the life I have, I don't care seeing other people on the streets, begging for money or food, prostitutes, thief's, or on how they got there and why they do it. I don't care about the things I saw on TV about Filipino life or if theyre real, all I really cared about is they're on TV for entertainment. I really dont have any interest about the Philippine government. But "Bakit baliktad magbasa ang pilipino?" has opened my views about these things. We may most of the time cover these flaws but whether you like it or not they will still be there.

So, as a responsible 17 year old college student, I say, take a stand. Our country still has hope. I can see it from a few who returned a lost & found wallet containing thousands or even millions of pesos. You can see it from the yaya's who worked abroad and almost risked their life for their alagas. Simple as it may sound but its already a big deal hearing that these people came from a third world country. You can see in them that the blood of our early bayani's are still running inside us.

"Gumising ka at maghilamos Pilipinas, masarap ang almusal!"
